    Filter Pumps are designed to sit in the pond & pump large particles and fish waste outside the pond to a separate pressure or gravity filter. They can handle dirtier water and usually have a big plastic cage with large holes. They are not "All In One Pump, Filter & UVC units" which are a pump with a built in filter.
